The file the bank saw is the control that matters
On-screen totals are a story. The generated payment file is the instruction.
Treasury walkthroughs often stop at the proposal screen: the total matches the AP listing, two names appear in the history, and the calendar looks orderly. None of that proves the bank processed the same beneficiaries and amounts.
A usable integrity note names the proposal, the file, the timestamp, and the acknowledgement. If the application cannot produce that sequence without someone reconstructing it by hand, the control is weaker than the screen implied.
We still take screenshots—but we attach them to sampled files. The picture then illustrates evidence, instead of standing in for it.
